Two Israeli Embassy Staff Killed in Washington Shooting; Suspect Held

Two staff members from the Israeli Embassy were killed in a shooting outside the embassy in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday evening, authorities said. The attack took place amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and has prompted an investigation by U.S. officials as a targeted antisemitic incident.

Police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, who was taken into custody at the scene. According to initial reports, Rodriguez shouted “Free Palestine” during the attack.
